Assets or Investments? I'm not referring to stocks, bonds, cars, or even pork bellies. I'm talking about your employees. Do you see your employees as a necessary asset or an invaluable investment? Richard Ray, writing for the Charlotte Observer online says, "Assets are typically used or consumed and then sold, traded or warehoused in a manner that takes the asset off the books. Assets are property and subject to the will of those that own them." Wow, I hope our team members (that's what we call our employees) don't think we view them like that! If we invest in our team, we know they'll invest in our partners.
