How to find the Jeremy Lin for your small business
These days, everyone is hopping on the Jeremy Lin bandwagon.
From his SportsCenter highlights to Desiring God's musings on his faith to a social media site that bears his namesake, everybody has found something to like in Lin.
Whether or not you're a Knicks fan, the New York team has something in Lin that everyone needs.
Entrepreneur.com's Brad Crecenzo writes about the need for small business owners to find the Linsanity in their companies. Like the Knicks, start-ups have their own unsung heroes who have the potential to be game-changers.
"Consider an employee who is doing really well with very little," Crecenzo writes. "Then, imagine what he could do with a big opportunity."
Lin, for example, went undrafted despite being an all-Ivy League point guard at Harvard. After being cut twice, he found his way onto the Knicks bench and became a sensation with the right opportunity.
The NBA does not have the monopoly on such Cinderella stories.
"Although not always a fruitful endeavor, uncovering an employee's hidden talents or simply empowering them to act -- and nurturing their confidence when they do -- can help any business," Crecnzo writes.
