Introducing Will Akers

Will Akers is the Director of Lite Division for Two Roads. We could not be more excited for Will to take command of this new operation and expand our reach to help more small businesses. What excites you about working at Two Roads?

It is an exciting place because of the overall office environment. It’s fun because of the growth path we're on. It’s rewarding because of lives being changed by the work we do with our partners. It’s humbling because of the incredible team that I'm proud to be part of. Not only that, it's beneficial to me because of the exposure to new things and steep learning curve, I love the challenge! When you put all of that together, working at Two Roads stacks up next to anybody.

What do you wish other people knew about Two Roads?

I wish everyone knew why we are here. Unfortunately, in the financial industry all relationships are driven by dollar signs, profits, and billable hours. Two Roads is different. Our goal is to help businesses in need and give back time to people’s lives. This way they can spend time doing what they love, being with their families, or selling their own product or service! We truly care about giving LIFE back to people consumed by their business, and we have an entire team dedicated to that mission.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love sports. I play quite a bit of basketball, volleyball and frisbee. I also spend a lot of the warmer weekends outside on the golf course or out in the yard.

What was the last book you read?

The last book I read was Love Works, by Joel Manby.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

I’m a big fan of classics. When forced to choose, I would say Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. That would narrowly top The Sting. I like the George Roy Hill, Paul Newman and Robert Redford tandem.

If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would go to a warm beach somewhere outside of the United States. I'm not very picky.

Two Roads has recently launched a service called Lite, what is the benefit of this new service?

The main benefit is the peace of mind provided by the service. Business owners can be confident in the data they are looking at, and trust it to make impactful decisions. Everything is cloud based as well, so there is no month-end shoebox to hand over or clearing out your office for a few hours while bookkeeper goes to work. This is all done at flat, monthly low cost too!

Who can benefit from using Two Roads Lite?

Business owners can really benefit from Lite. Most of the time, the owners are juggling 3, 4, or more positions within the organization including accountant. By no fault of their own, the accounting gets thrown by the wayside or entered incorrectly. Lite not only takes the stress off their plate, but also instills peace and confidence in their financial data.
