Planning, Humility, and the Titanic

Not only does April 15th remind us of tax time, it was also the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking. Carol Tice writes a helpful article on what businesses can learn from the Titanic. At Two Roads, we take a day each month to do two things: 1. See where we've been. It's helpful to "hold up the mirror" of what has transpired, whether it be reviewing a budget, goals we've set, etc. 2. Plan for the future. We always want to constantly improve and tweak areas we need to grow or change. One of the big failings of the Titanic was the advertisement of being "unsinkable". A little humility and planning may have prevented the Titanic catastrophe. We as entrepreneurs can hopefully avoid a similar fate, no matter how small our ships may be.
