Why do you work?

So what makes you get up every morning? What gets you excited about your J.O.B.? I don't have a fundamental belief that we should find joy in all our work. Sometimes its just hard. There are tasks we don't enjoy or people at work that you don't get along with. However, I do believe that we can find a recipe that gives motivation to show up everyday and give it our all. I do believe that you can focus in such a way that bring satisfaction to what you do. If we are constantly identifying things that are not going right, but instead always lamenting what you don't have, how do you succeed? A big key to this is understanding what your motivation is for being there in the first place. Michael Hyatt in a recent blog post did a great job of putting together a diagram for this: We often talk to our Partners about this framework, but now we have some explanation to go along with it. Often in small business it can become a hobby because you are not getting paid, from our perspective, this is the first step.
